21.10.2023 – No civilian deserves to be taken hostage. No civilian deserves to die as part of a collective punishment. No one deserves to be trapped in an open-air prison without access to water, electricity, humanitarian aid or freedom. No civilian deserves to be collectively targeted, punished, hurt or killed in war especially not children, woman and the elderly. We condemn all acts that target any innocent civilians whether it’s in Israel, Gaza Palestine or anywhere else in the world. In war there are no real winners! But the losses are real on all sides as civilians suffer with the effects to be long lasting for many years.

The destruction of Gaza by Israeli disproportionate air and ground attacks, the bombing of schools, hospitals, churches, mosques, homes, the killings and massacre of innocent children, women, civilians, is unacceptable. Is the only way for Israel to defend itself by randomly dropping bombs in Gaza one of the most densely populated places in the world, bombing hospitals, schools, homes etc and taking disproportionate action leading to collective punishment/killings/genocide of innocent Palestinian children, women, elderly and other civilians in Gaza because they happen to be born and living in Gaza?

Gaza, with a population of 2 million, on some 365 square kilometers, is one of the most densely populated places in the world. The oppression and suffering in Gaza and Palestine has been going on for years, but since the recent Israili strikes started in Gaza 2 weeks ago on 7 October 2023 at least 4,137 Palestinians, including 1,500+ children, 1,000+ women, have been killed, tens of thousands more injured and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced across Gaza due to Israel’s air raids. These numbers are expected to increase rapidly as airstrikes continue.

As conditions rapidly deteriorate amid this latest escalation in hostilities, West London Turkish Volunteers remains steadfast in our determination to assist Palestinian families in Gaza. Working closely with IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and AFAD The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of Turkiye, we are preparing our humanitarian response and we need your help. As Palestinian families face fresh suffering in Gaza, West London Turkish Volunteers is calling on all supporters to help us provide much-needed humanitarian aid.

With your support, we will remain a lifeline for Palestinian families in Gaza. Please give generously to our Gaza Palestine Crisis Appeal now.
